North Carolina lawmakers are coming back to Raleigh to look at a vetoed bill that would ease boat towing restrictions.

Gov. Mike Easley on Monday called lawmakers back to the
Legislative Building on Wednesday to look at a boat towing bill he
vetoed last week. The measure would increase the size of boats that
could be towed without a permit and lift some restrictions on when
they can be pulled.

The state constitution allows lawmakers to not follow Easley's
call back to Raleigh if legislative leaders collect signatures from
a majority of members saying such. But so far, there are no plans
to do that.

Bill Holmes, a spokesman for House Speaker Joe Hackney, said
most House members have said they want to come back and look at the legislation.

Vote the desire of the people for a change, legislators. Is the democratic party so in lockstep that they can not vote the people's will?

Should have never been vetoed. I hope they override it, and remind Easley that when the Senate unanimously passes something and 98% of the House passes it, it's probably the will of the people. Good job, General Assembly.
