The funerals for a husband and wife who died after a head-on collision will be held Thursday.
Nellie Cahoon Brickhouse, age 77, and her husband, Lindsey Brickhouse, age 78, were from Fairfield in Hyde County.
The State Highway Patrol says the Brickhouses died Friday after their car was struck head-on by another vehicle on Highway 94 near the Tyrrell-Hyde County line. The driver of that other vehicle, 69-year-old Jerry Spivey of Virginia, has been charged with two counts of misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.
According to their obituary, the Brickhouses owned and operated the Warbler Station for 22 years. Mr. Brickhouse was a U.S. Army veteran. They leave behind an extended family.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 27, at Evans Funeral Home in Edenton from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, August 28, at 2 p.m. with burial following at Beaver Hill Cemetery.

Lawmen say a vehicle driven by Jerry Spivey, age 69, of Chesapeake, Virginia, crossed the center line on Highway 94, causing the crash.
Spivey was taken by East Carolina helicopter to Pitt County Memorial Hospital. As of Monday morning, he remained hospitalized. The State Highway Patrol says Spivey has been charged with two counts of misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.
Roads were clear at the time of the crash. Lawmen say there is no word yet why Spivey's vehicle crossed the center line.
