Before classes start Tuesday, East Carolina University will be testing its emergency notification system.
The testing will begin 9 a.m. Friday.
Students and staff should expect to see the alert on items such as the ECU homepage, the TV screens on campus, and their cell phones.
ECU affiliated people will receive a text message regarding the alert only if they registered for them. Otherwise, they will receive a voice message.
While walking throughout campus, people will hear loudspeakers notifying them about the alert.
The testing will also run through Friday afternoon and Saturday.
