One of five people deputies say are connected to running a child porn production operation in our state has plead guilty.
Bailey Mills of Sanford plead guilty to one count of manufacturing child pornography, according to our affiliate WNCN.
WNCN also reports police arrested the registered sex offender in January on several charges, including rape of a child.
Investigators said the 34-year-old Mills was operating a daycare out of his home, and two of his victims were toddlers.
Mills was arrested after deputies received a tip that he contacted a 12-year-old girl on Facebook about paying her for sexual intercourse.
Four others were arrested in this case as well, officials said.
Because of his previous sex convictions, Mills faces a mandatory 35 years up to life sentence.
Mills is scheduled to appear back in court November 4 for sentencing.
Authorities in North Carolina say a daycare and mentoring program run out of the home of a registered sex offender was a front for a child porn production operation.
WRAL-TV in Raleigh reported Tuesday that Harnett County sheriff's deputies arrested four people and are searching for a fifth. Authorities say there are at least 10 male and female victims, ranging in age from 1 to 14.
Investigators say Bailey Joe Mills ran the day care out of his home to gain access to children. Mills is accused of then offering the children money to have sex with men contacted through social media sites.
Records show Mills has three felony convictions involving sexual activity with children. He was arrested in January and charged with raping a 13-year-old girl.
