Multiple Drug Arrests Made In Halifax County After Traffic Check

Three men were arrested for three separate drug-related incidents Thursday night after Halifax deputies were doing a traffic check.

Deputies arrested the three men when they were stopping cars at the intersection of Washington Avenue and 11th Street in Weldon.

Officials first arrested 29-year-old Edwin Branch of Weldon for resisting a public officer after he was seen with a gun and asked to step out of his car.

After smelling marijuana from their cars, authorities arrested both 32-year-old Christopher Gay of Jackson and 25-year-old Carroll Dickens, Jr. of Gaston.

Both Gay and Dickens were charged for possession with intent to sell marijuana.

Gay is being held on a $1,200 bond while Dickens was given a $3,000 bond.

Branch is being held on a $2,000 bond.

Gay and Dickens are scheduled to appear in court September 3.
