An agreement has been reached between Currituck County and the nonprofit organization that manages the historic lighthouse there. The pact will allow the organization to maintain control of the light. Currituck County commissioners voted yesterday to accept an agreement that recognizes that the lighthouse is immune from Currituck County land use regulations as long as the U-S government holds an interest in the structure. The agreement says the county, the state and the Outer Banks. Conservationists will end all litigation about the red brick
structure built in 1875.
