The crime scene was chilling. Those are the words of a former detective with the Williamston Police Department who investigated the murder case of Willie Brown. Brown is scheduled to die by lethal injection Friday for murdering a convenience store clerk in 1983. Investigators say Brown kidnapped Ann Roberson Dixon from the Zip Mart in Williamston, then drove her to a logging path in Martin County and shot her multiple times. Lawmen say just a few months before Brown committed this crime, he had been released from prison in Virginia where he served 12 years of an 80 year sentence.
