Four people are lucky to be alive after the home the were staying in caught fire early Saturday morning.
Greenville fire crews responded to 606 Contentnea Street in downtown Greenville around two Saturday morning. When they got their flames were shooting out of the windows. In all four people were inside the building when it caught fire and they did sustain some injuries, some more so than others, but fire officials say this fire could have been much worse for the victims. Officials say the residents were asleep inside, but luckily someone was out on the porch and was able to get the others awake and away from the fire before firemen arrived.
One person was taken to the Chapel Hill Burn Center. In all it took 25 firemen to get this house fire under control. The cause is still under investigation.
