Holy Week or Week of "The Passion" began Palm Sunday.
Orthodox Christians fast very strictly this week and attend many divine services reliving the final days of Jesus Christ before his holy resurrection. Biblical scriptures indicate on Palm Sunday Jesus road on a colt, or donkey through Jerusalem as crowds of people covered the streets ahead of him with palm branches, hence the name "Palm Sunday." Passion Week or Holy Week is the time from Sunday through Easter Sunday, when Jesus preached, taught, and presided over the Last Supper, then stood trial, and was condemned to death.
Easter Sunday is next week when biblical passages indicate Jesus rose from the dead after being crucified just three days before, on what is called "Good Friday."
