Track and field took center stage at a very special event Thursday, the 2006 Special Olympics in the city of Washington. WITN's Meredith White emceed the event. The Beaufort/Hyde Special Olympics chapter along with community participants, friends, family members and supporters of our special needs neighbors, cheered on hundreds of athlete's during this year's games at Washington High School. There are other Special Olympics events throughout the year from aquatics, basketball, bowling, power lifting and more. Want to be a volunteer? Know some one who would love to play?
