Funeral services will be held next week in Dubuque for an Army nurse killed in North Carolina.

The body of 2nd Lt. Holley Wimunc, of Dubuque, was discovered July 13, three days after a suspicious fire at her Fayetteville apartment.

Wimunc's husband, Marine Cpl. John Wimunc, is charged in her death. A fellow Marine is charged with helping him commit the crime.

Holley Wimunc was based at Fort Bragg. Her body was found in a wooded area near the southern border of Camp Lejeune, about 130
miles southeast of Fayetteville.

Wimunc's funeral will be held on Tuesday at the Cathedral of St. Rphael in Dubuque.

this is such a heartbreaking story. its so sad about the recent stories of women soldiers being killed on base. these women are strong, independent, and defending our country and our families. for fellow military to kill them makes me wonder whats really going on in iraq. god bless their families.

May God shed comfort to her family. Our prayers are with them. How sad that someone could take another life just like that. May the truth be told so this beautiful person can rest in peace. May the convicted rot in prison!!!!
