A studio says it plans a huge new production stage at its North Carolina facility that will include an indoor tank for underwater filming.
The Wilmington Star-News reported Wednesday that EUE Screen Gems Studios officially announced the stage project and gave details,
although some information had been reported two months ago.
EUE Screen Gems President Chris Cooney said the project is the "dream stage."
The 37,500-square-foot stage should be completed by next spring. It will include a 60-by-60-foot indoor tank. The company says the
tank will be one of the largest in North America.
The New York company has nine other sound stages in Wilmington.
