KOA Outer Banks Campground Back Open Following Hurricanes Irene & Sandy Damage

A campground on the Outer Banks that saw damage at the hands of hurricanes Sandy and Irene, is back open for business following a multi-million dollar revitalization.

Kampgrounds of America, or KOA as they are often referred to, held a ribbon cutting on Friday for its Cape Hatteras campground.

Several years and 6.5 million dollars later, the campground is now open for business after the grounds were devastated by hurricane Irene in 2011, and then Sandy in 2012.

The campground can be found along the Pamlico Sound and features deluxe sky cabins and vacation suites, as well as a resort style pool.
