Two Local Teachers Paint For Free Comic Day

Two local artists, who are also Pitt County school teachers, have found a creative way to celebrate Free Comic Book Day.

Farmville Middle's Walter Alligood and Lake Forest Elementary's Jett Harrell are creating a wall mural of comic book legends for a comic book store Wednesday, in return for comic books for their classes.

The wall mural will feature comic book legends Batman and Spiderman.

Alligood and Harrell are painting the mural Wednesday at Nostalgia Newsstand, newly located on Washington and 9th Street in Greenville.

The comic book store asked the teachers to paint the mural to promote Free Comic Book Day.

Free Comic Book Day is held by publishers every May.
