Dare County authorities say a cab driver who was found unconscious April 13th died as a result of an accident due to a medical condition.
Mark Harvey passed away Sunday, a week after he was found in Colington Harbor beside his cab.
The 53-year-old Harvey, who lived in Kill Devil Hills, was found in a driveway at a residence on Harbor View Drive around 1:30 a.m.
Deputies say a death certificate from Norfolk Sentara confirms, along with evidence from the scene, that the man's injuries were a result of a medical issue.
Investigators say four Coast Guardsmen were next door having a bonfire and noticed the taxi pull into the driveway without a passenger. A short time later they saw the man pull the taxi down the driveway and then heard what they thought was the van striking something at the house.
Two of the men walked over to see about the accident, and found Harvey on the concrete, trying to get up. They called 911 and rendered first aid.

The Dare County Sheriff's Office says he worked for Atlantic Cab and so far deputies haven't said how they believe Harvey died.

The sheriff's office says 911 received a call for an unconscious man down in a driveway at a residence on Harbor View Drive in Colington Harbor around 1:30 a.m.
WITN obtained a copy of the call.
"We saw this taxi cab sitting here for a while and it was running," said the caller. "So I came over to see what was going on and I came over and I saw it had impacted a standing vehicle. So I walked back over and when I got.. I said well maybe I should go back and take another look. And then when I came around I saw there was a shadow. The guy laying on the floor. That's when I came up and started checking on him."
The caller also said he thought the cab driver was bleeding from what looked like a cut above his right eyebrow.
The investigation continues.

That individual is identified as 53-year-old Mark Harvey of Kill Devil Hills.
The sheriff's office says he worked for Atlantic Cab and was found next to the vehicle.
Harvey was taken to Outer Banks Hospital, then to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital according to deputies.
Officials at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital said Harvey was listed in stable condition by early Monday morning.
The investigation is continuing and the sheriff's office is working to identify the exact injuries he may have had.
