Lawmen in Beaufort County are on the lookout for a man who created quite a stir eluding authorities following a random traffic stop Sunday.
Around 11:30 Sunday morning, lawmen attempted to pull over a vehicle near the intersection of Slatestone Road and CBH Lodge Road. That's just about a mile or so down the road from Washington High School. Lawmen say despite attempts to pull the driver over, the driver drove his vehicle into the middle of a field, jumped out of his car and took off. Highway patrolmen, city police, sheriff's deputies, and a k-9 unit combed the wooded area where the man ran, but were unable to locate him.
Lawmen say the car was registered out-of-state, and they have no leads as to who the driver was
