Kids Revive Old South Jazz

A small group of kids from first flight high school are making a national name for themselves, reviving a musical genre from before their time.

The "Dixie Doo Daz” raised the roof at Spring Arbor Assisted Living in Kill Devil Hills, performing an encore performance of old south jazz that garnered the group first prize in a national high school competition in California.

Three of the young students each took first prize for separate solo acts with their instruments. The senior residents just loved it, and some were even singing along to the songs of their youth.
