At least it happened before the election this time. Some voting machinery sent to North Carolina turned out to have a problem that could have resulted in the omission of some ballots. The problem involved faulty memory cards, some of which were sent to Wake, Durham and Forsyth counties. The company that provided the machinery is the only one authorized to sell voting equipment in North Carolina. Elections officials say the affected gear is being returned and the cards will be replaced.
