Gas prices are on their way up again. But why? According to Triple-A Carolinas there are several reasons. With the weather getting warmer, the demand is getting higher. There is also a refinery in the Caribbean that is off line, and officials say it will take about two weeks to get it working again. Also, many refineries are currently switching production to a summer blend gasoline which takes longer to make. Experts say oil production in the Gulf is still recovering from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita last fall. The average price of gas in North Carolina right now is $2.44 per gallon.
