The issue of commercial and recreational licensing was a main catch for a lot of folks in Craven County Tuesday.
They are concerned the Division of Marine Fisheries is implementing too many regulations when it comes to fishing.
Veteran commercial fisherman Nelson Lees says he's having trouble figuring out the benefits of next year's recreational licensing fee of $5.00 for 10 days.
According to the State Division of Marine Fisheries, existing commercial and the new recreational licensing fees are set aside for enhancing our state marine resources.
But how exactly that will be done is up in the air. Ultimately both recreational and commercial fishermen are getting hooked as the Division of Marine Fisheries net profits from both licenses.
