A sex offender who moved to Pitt County and didn't register is in trouble with the law.

Sheriff's Deputies say 30 year old Deforest Coffey who was registered in Beaufort County moved in with his girlfriend to her Jasper Road home.

Investigators say, last month the got the report that Coffey moved without telling police. Deputies arrested him Wednesday in Pitt
County and put him in jail on a 10 thousand dollar bond.

Now I wonder if his girlfriend knew he was a sex offender? and If she knew he was, do she have any children living with her.I just hope I am wrong about of this, because if she knew he was a sex offender and she have kids at home, not good at all. Anf thanks again law inforcement for keep us aware of these preditors who prey on children, let just keep our children safe, it is our responsibility as a parent.

Hope the judge will lock him up, haven't we seen enough of these people reoffending? Not registering, trying to remain anonymous so they can be free to reoffend, hope the judge isn't some bleeding heart liberal
