Advice for Burning

That's according to the North Carolina Department of Environmental and Natural Resources. The official start of the spring fire season is, fittingly, the first day of spring, March 21, but there are things you can do to protect your home from an outdoor blaze.

Officials say, cleaning your gutters, as well as removing trash and debris from around you home by hauling it to dump sites when its available helps reduce possible fuels for fire. Also always have a fire watch if you burning, with a shovel and a rake and a garden hose when available.
