We now know why a school resource officer responded to Well's Elementary school in the city of Wilson and placed the facility on lock down this week. In a statement by the Wilson police department, lawmen say at about 2:50 pm Thursday afternoon, the school was shut as a precautionary measure after reports that a student threatened several students with a gun; and that the suspect was seen near the Well's Elementary School campus. Lawmen say the 11 year old suspect was located, however no weapon was found - therefore no charges will be filed. Police say this incident surrounds a previous altercation between the juvenile suspect and a student at Well's Elementary School.
