Some folks in the East had a cable Internet headache Friday afternoon. Cox Cable tells us a Department of Transportation contractor cut a fiber line between Washington and Greenville, causing widespread outages. It's believed the entire city of Washington and perhaps even most of Beaufort County was unable to receive Cox Cable Internet service because of the mishap. Service was expected to be restored, hopefully, in a few hours.
