Suspicious Death Now Ruled As Homicide

Thursday morning, Rocky Mount police were called out to investigate the death of a Rocky Mount man. At first they were calling his death suspicious, but now they're calling it a homicide. Investigators say 36-year-old Tony Thomas was discovered dead inside his home on South Grace Street by his girlfriend just after 2:30 Wednesday afternoon. Detectives say they could not find any signs of forced entry to the home, but some furniture did seem to be out of place. Preliminary results of an autopsy have come back, and authorities say it does show that Thomas had been murdered. It will take several more days before police will know exactly how Thomas was killed.
