Students in Katherine Holt's third grade class at Bath Elementary received a sweet surprise after lunch Thursday, a King cake. These colorful and tasty confections are a Mardi Gras tradition. The King cake is compliments of students Anna and Kathryn Rathke, who were displaced by Hurricane Katrina, came to Bath and attended Bath Elementary. The two students are back in Louisiana and as a token of appreciation to their former classmates, they sent them King cakes.
