NEW INFO: Man Wanted For Bethel Child Abuse Charges Now In Jail

A man who Bethel Police said was wanted in connection to a child abuse case is now in custody.

Pitt County Detention Center officers confirm 24-year-old Frederick Givens Jr. was booked into the Pitt County Jail. Deputies said Bethel Police officers brought Givens in.

Bethel Police and S.B.I. officials investigated a report of child abuse with serious injury reported to have happened on November 7th.

On Wednesday, police arrested Latoya Carter and charged her with child abuse and obstruction of justice.

Carter's bond was set at $310,000.

Givens' bond is now set at $100,000 on one charge of intentional child abuse, serious bodily injury.

Givens is due in court Friday morning for his first appearance.
