Deputies said a Pamlico County woman is in jail after dropping her knife and running from an armed robbery gone awry.
The Pamlico County Sheriff's office said at 12:48 a.m. Wednesday, they got a call of a robbery in progress at the Handy Mart on Highway 55 in Alliance.
The store clerk told deputies a woman came in the convenience store, demanded cash, then dropped her weapon behind the counter during a struggle with that clerk.
While the accused crook got away with an undisclosed amount of money, deputies identified her as 26-year-old Rhiannon Morgan from Bayboro.
Deputies said they arrested Morgan later at her home.
Her bond was set at $150,000 ahead of a first court appearance, which is scheduled for Friday.
