A Vanceboro woman survived after flipping her car on its side as troopers say she swerved to avoid a deer on a highway near Kinston.
Jennifer Thomas, 36, will not face charges for the wreck that happened around 4 a.m. on Highway 11 near Bill Herring Rd., just north of Kinston.
Her car was the only vehicle involved in the crash. The car did not have significant damage.
Thomas was not hurt.

The Highway Patrol is responding to a vehicle flipped over on Highway 11 at Bill Herring Rd., which is just north of Kinston in Lenoir County.
The wreck was reported just after 4 a.m.
