Beaufort County's burn ban could put a damper on this years 4th of July celebration.
Due to the ban, which was put in place because of drought conditions and the Hyde County wildfire, the annual Washington fireworks display was canceled.
Fire officials say they fear random injuries and fire breakouts in the area. Their biggest concern are illegal fireworks, which shoot and explode into the sky creating a fire hazard.
We spoke with some consumers who still plan on purchasing fireworks, despite the ban and one fireworks vendor, who says she hasn't seen a dip in sales with the burn ban in affect.
Candace Brooks says she has about 30,000 dollars worth of fireworks in her tent and expects to sell most of them.
