ECU Starter Suspended Again For Violating Team Policy

The starting nose tackle for the ECU Pirates is sidelined indefinitely once again.

Coach Ruffin McNeill says Terry Williams has been suspended for violating team policy.

Last year, Williams was arrested by Simpson police on marijuana possession charges. He was suspended by the coach after that arrest.

ECU has not said what team policy Williams is accused of violating in this latest suspension, but McNeill said he “did not adhere to the conduct standards we have in place.”

He is the first football player to face disciplinary action during this regular season.

Williams, a 2-year starter for the Pirates' front line, has recorded nine tackles and half a sack in the first three sames of the season.

McNeill said junior Chrishon Rose would take over the starting position with Williams being out.
