Construction will begin Monday morning for the replacement of two bridges in two counties.
The NC DOT says that replacement of the timber bridge on Pamlico Beach Road in Belhaven will begin at 9 a.m.
That bridge is found between Church and South Savannah Roads.
It's going to be out of action until December 22nd.
The 2nd bridge closing will take place in Pitt County.
Crew will begin work in replacing the bridge on Rock Road over Buckleberry Canal near Grifton.
That bridge is located between NC 118 and Cletus Hart Road.
Work will begin around 8 a.m. in the morning and will also be closed until December 22nd.
The projects are part of the department's $750 million state-funded bridge improvement program to improve the overall condition of the state's bridges.
