Man Police Shot May Have Suffered From Bi Polar Disorder

Reports indicate that 34-year-old Kerry Turner suffered from mental illnesses, possibly bi polar disorder. He's the man Greenville police shot during a chase on Greenville Boulevard Thursday. That disorder, also known as manic depression, is a disease that millions of Americans live with. Psychologist Gary Van Reed works at Pitt County Mental Health. Van Reed specializes in diagnosing bi polar disorder. He says it's a condition that one in every 25 Americans may face in their lifetime. The disorder causes unusual shifts in a person's mood, energy and ability to function. Bi polar disorder typically develops in late adolescence or early adulthood.
