NC Mother Charged With DWI For 2nd Time In Month

Authorities in Gastonia have charged a woman with driving while impaired involving her children for the second time in a month.

The Gaston Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/164Dx4x) police said 36-year-old Elizabeth Cher Drawdy was involved in a wreck with her 8-year-old child in the car on Thursday. An officer said she was unsteady on her feet and smelled of alcohol.

Drawdy is jailed under $10,000 bond on charges of DWI, misdemeanor child abuse, failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving with a revoked license. It's not known if she has an attorney.

In August, Drawdy was charged with DWI and contributing to the delinquency of a minor after police say she and another mother went out drinking and left their children and other youngsters home alone.
