Different types of scams continue to catch many people off guard in Eastern Carolina. Case and point: Diane Joyner of Goldsboro just got scammed in a big way. She recently tried to purchase a Cadillac Escalade for $12,000 off of eBay. After the bidding process ended, the scammer convinced Joyner to finish the deal away from eBay. Joyner says she did research and thought it would be safe. But after sending $6000 through Western Union to Italy to secure her purchase, she never heard from them again.
