You're Responsible for Damages Caused by an "Act Of God"

Hertz car rental company is changing their policy when it comes to who is responsible for damages caused by an "Act of God." That's when damages occur that are beyond your control, such as flooding or if a gust of wind were to topple a tree on the vehicle. In the past, you would not be responsible for the damage. But as of January of this year, all renters including their "Gold Club" members are responsible for "Act of God" damages. But there is a way to protect yourself. Greenville insurance agent Chris Challender your personal auto policy can be set up to cover those kinds of damages caused to rental vehicles. Hertz isn't the only company with this rule. We checked with Avis and Enterprise Rent A Car as well. They too have this policy.
