Paper Packaging Factory Caught Fire

A factory fire in Kinston could have been another disaster for the Lenoir County, had it not been for an overhead sprinkler system.

Lenoir County fire officials say that the Best Diamond Packaging, and Depaco factory, two businesses under one roof, had a fire around 2:40 Saturday afternoon. The building had around 60 to 70 employees working at the time of the fire, but amazingly they were able to escape unharmed.

The factory makes paper products so a fire inside this factory could have been disastrous for an area that still remembers the West Pharmecutical explosion.
