What an unusual January! It's supposed to be cold and dreary, but, here in Eastern North Carolina, spring is in the air. Temperatures were unseasonably warm for most of Friday afternoon. Business owners in downtown Washington say warm weather has brought extra foot traffic into their shops. Folks who would normally be bundled up this time of year are peeling off the extra layers for a stroll out in the sun. And if you missed out on Friday's warm temperatures, you're still in luck. The warm weather should last until tomorrow afternoon.
