Heavy winds along with severe weather wreaked havoc on some neighborhoods throughout Eastern Carolina Saturday morning, especially in Greene County.
Destroyed homes and damaged vehicles was the scene in Snow Hill after a believed tornado touched down. Saturday afternoon, emergency response officials said 1200 houses were still without electricity. More than a dozen homes were damaged and residents were actually surprised that no one was injured.
Emergency personnel and American Red Cross workers are available to help families in need of temporary food and housing.
