Dare County voters begin heading to the polls for one stop voting next week and election officials are concerned about being ready. That's because new technology mandated by the Help America Vote Act takes effect. The law mandates all counties have touchscreen voting and a paper backup. In Dare County, some of that equipment is still coming in, and the company it purchased it from has stopped production. Despite the problems, Dare County officials believe they'll be ready as voters decide whether or not to repeal a one- cent sales tax for beach nourishment.
