The Navy conducted a series of Super Hornet Jet flyovers on the border of Washington and Beaufort counties Tuesday to collect data for a potential Outlying Landing Field. Farmers in the area say they don't think one low-flying plane simulates what it's actually like to have a landing field in their back yard. Irvin Manning says his family has farmed land since the 1800s across from the site the Navy is considering. He says an OLF would end their livelihood. Navy officials don't know what the result of the tests will mean. The Navy plans to conduct similar tests for the Washington-Beaufort site on Thursday.
