A body found in Elizabeth City has been identified as that of a 25-year-old man missing for almost 2 weeks, and police are investigating his death as a homicide.
Police confirmed Wednesday Jovan Morris' body was found July 18th on Florida Road in the Weeksville area of Pasquotank County. Elizabeth City Officials reported Wednesday the autopsy showed it was Morris' body, but police are not releasing how Morris was killed.
Elizabeth City Police say they got a report July 6th, Morris of 903 Brooks Avenue was missing and his vehicle was found parked and unattended with the keys in the ignition in front of Woodstock Apartments in Elizabeth City. Morris' girlfriend told police he did not pick her up from work the Friday night before as he usually does.
