Navy Secretary Says Changes Needed at Camp Lejeune

The new Secretary of the Navy says changes are needed at Camp Lejeune to meet the challenges of tomorrow. Donald Winter was just sworn in to his new position last week. Monday he was at Camp Lejeune to tour the base.

Secretary Winter says, "This facility was obviously designed, more from a northern European prospective, very appropriate for the Soviet time period, but needing modification right now as we go into more and more engagement in the Middle East."

The Secretary of the Navy handles a military budget in excess of $125 billion a year, and nearly 900,000 people.
