NEW INFO: Former Plymouth Star Athlete, Pro Football Player Charged With Attempted Murder

A former all-star athlete from Plymouth is now charged with attempted murder in connection with a shooting that injured a local man.

According to school records, Linson is a graduate of Plymouth High School. He earned four letters in football and two in basketball .

He was MVP, all-conference, and all-state in both sports.

Linson graduated from Plymouth in 2003 and went on to play football at Central Michigan University.

Linson also made it to the professional stage and played in preseason football games with the Baltimore Ravens.

He is currently being held on a 75,000 dollar bond.

Plymouth Chief Steve O'Neal says they have charged Damien Linson with first degree attempted murder.

Corey Norman was shot Sunday night at the Olde Town Apartments around 8:30 p.m. The 38-year-old Norman remains at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

Linson, who is 28, is in jail on a $75,000 secured bond.
