Child Left at Bus Stop

A six-year-old girl was left unattended for nearly two hours at a Greenville school bus stop this week, and picked up by a passer-by.

It happened Wednesday at the South Haven Apartments off South Square Drive, just outside of Greenville. The passerby contacted police who notified the child's mother.

Lawmen say this is can be a common, but dangerous scenario for families and have these tips to increase safety. Get to know neighbors who you can trust to watch out for your kids. Additionally, lawmen say identify a safe-zone for your child to go in an emergency, and practice your routine.
