Police and students at East Carolina University will be going through training to learn how to better fend off a rapist. Last year saw six reported rapes and multiple robberies on campus. That prompted the university to enhance security by beefing up the police staff and adding more video monitoring equipment.
This year, campus police will take a pro-active approach to protecting their students by heading back to the classroom for a rape defense aggression class. After the officers complete the training, they will offer those same classes to both male and female students.
