This is the time of the year when many unwanted pets get turned into shelters. In just the last week alone the Pitt County Animal Shelter took in 53 dogs, and numerous cats and kittens. Most of them are now in need of a good adoptive home. Officials say there is no fee to give up your unwanted pet, and you will not get in trouble as long as you turn them in legally. To help your unwanted pet get adopted as quickly as possible, they suggest you bring all of your pet's veterinarian records, breeding papers, and any other information you may have.
