You may want to check your pockets. A lot of money has been changing hands over the holidays, but not all of it is legit. Police in Grifton and Ayden in Pitt County say they have seen a major increase in counterfeit cash over the last three days. The bills are missing key markings like the watermark and the raised ink over the numbers on the bills. Police say they have two solid leads as to where the phony bills may have come from, but no arrests yet.
