Kinston police released the name of a man murdered early Friday morning.
The victim was identified as 30-year-old Robert Pridgen of West Rd. in Kinston. Police say they found Pridgen shot several times in the upper body behind the wheel of a Lexus.
Police discovered Pridgen's body while responding to a shots fired call at 1802 Cedar Lane at 12:50 a.m. The shooting happened in front of a family member's home.

Police told WITN at 12:50 a.m., they got the call to the 1800 block of Cedar Lane in Kinston for shots fired.
Police said they found a man had been shot and killed there.
The scene is near C.H. Bynum Elementary and Rochelle Middle School.
Investigators said they are working to notify the victim's family of his death and are not yet releasing his name.
