A murder case with no body, that's what a detective with the Sharpsburg Police Department has been working with for the last five years until now.
Last month, Detective Joel Batchelor received tips that ultimately led to the indictments of three men in connection to the 1999 murder of 22-year-old Damion Lemont Jones.
Benjamin Ransome, Terrance Hanson and Reginald Hanson are all charged in the case. Police say Jones was killed at Hillsdale Apartments in Sharpsburg on March 5, 1999.
Detective Batchelor says he was able to solve the case using DNA evidence he obtained from the victim's toothbrush and dozens of interviews. Police say Benjamin Ransome, charged with Jones' murder, is already serving time in a Virginia jail for armed robbery.
Police say the gun Ransome used in the armed robbery is the same gun used to kill Jones.
